Birth of the Bab Celebrated October 20th

Birth of the Bab (October 20): Baha’i observance of the anniversary of the birth, October 20, 1819, in Shiraz, Persia, of Siyyid ‘Ali-Muhammad, who later took the title of “the Bab”, meaning “the Gate”. The Bab was the prophet-herald of the Baha’i Faith. One of the nine holy days of the year where work is suspended.
Note: if you’re in the Greenville, SC area, the celebration of the Birth of the Bab will be held at 6:00 p.m. tonight at the Baha’i Center. All are invited. Bahais are asked to bring a potluck dish to share.
