Birth of the Bab (October 20): Baha’i observance of the anniversary of the birth, October 20, 1819, in Shiraz, Persia, of Siyyid ‘Ali-Muhammad, who later took the title of “the Bab”, meaning “the Gate”. The Bab was the prophet-herald of the Baha’i Faith. One of the nine holy days of the year where work is suspended.

I got some good news. Mama just hit the lottery and she is building herself a smacking brand new house.

But Mama’s green. Ain’t never had no money ba four to speak of, so she needs yo help. She’s hoping you can help furnish the place. You know, give her some ideas about what to put in all those empty rooms.

When you go there, take a look at the Site Map, it gives you clues as to what Mama might do with the new place. But mama’s getting old and her spirit tells her she ought not try to do this one by herself. So….

In this blog, we’ll be gathering together your insights and reflections on many different virtues which will be posted by category. You’ll see a “VW” preceding the name of each virtue.

VW stands for Virtuous Wisdom because that’s what you’ll be sharing with us all as you post your comments. Like the VWs on the road, your VW–when shared with others–will serve as a vehicle to help everyone reach their goal of acquiring that particular virtue so much faster…maybe even at Corvette Stingray speed!

The questions posed in the initial post are designed to stimulate thought, but if you want to pose your own question with regard to a particular virtue, feel free to begin the post with your own question so others will know where you are coming from.

It is hoped that the VW you share will help all of us meet the challenge of perfecting a particular virtue or serve as a catalyst in guiding us in our path towards overcoming negative attributes.
