How can we be happy always?
As I took my walk today to catch the sun before it left the sky, I pondered this question:
If we are commanded to “Be Happy Always”, how is it possible?
If you have some insights as to how to achieve this feat, i.e. happiness, post a comment here.
I’d love to know.

Happiness is a state of being; what that mean is that it is a spiritual reality and its roots are grounded in submission to and contentment with the will of God.
Therefore, the first step to realizing this state of being is: Submission. Submission does not mean passivity or relinquishing one’s choice to be an active participant in life. What it means is identifying the boundaries within which one has control to impact change versus those outside areas which lie within the realm of divine control.
What are my personal responsibilities towards the development of my spirit and life? What are those areas in my life over which I have no control and has tobe surrendered to a Higer Power?
Once one begins to ask these questions leading to submission of one’s will to that of the Creator, then the by product, contentment starts to blossom.
When one is contented then automatically true liberation follows: because you stop worrying about what you cannot change and focus instead on the power you have within you to change those things for which you have absoulte responsibility.
So an equation for happiness may look like this:
submission to will of God =
Contentment in knowing your true place in universe = liberty/freedom from doubt and worry = security/spiritual certitude = lasting happiness.
Hope this makes sense and hasn’t created mass confusion:)

Hi Deb,
Wow…Nice to have a formula for happiness. Thanks for the insights. I will print out and meditate on it.
Second reason I’m posting is I wanna see how to do it using this new blog software I’ve transferred this blog to. I think I like it better than blogger because I can categorize posts, add pages that aren’t posts, etc. Haven’t figured out how to add adsense yet or change the header design or to make it fancy like some I’ve seen where the website and the blogs are connected…but all things in time.
2Hope you’re happy and well in Barbados!
